ZLDC's task is to promote the Zimbabwe Leather Value chain to be globally competitive. In line this mandate, the ZLDC is seized with the adoption and embracing technologies in the value chain including the introduction of new/improved production techniques as well as new technology in marketing of eco-friendly and sustainably produced leather products. ZLDC endeavors to coordinate with relevant government line ministries to ensure a conducive environment for manufacturers and other stakeholders in order to promote the production good quality hides and skins, promotion and development of appropriate skills and the development of a globally competitive value chain.ZLDC also aims at strengthening relationships that facilitate promotion of local Zimbabwean leather, footwear and leather products for consumption in the local, regional and international markets. Overall, ZLDC facilitates excellence in the quality and service in the Zimbabwe Leather Value chain.
